Join the Global Operations Division of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in a high-impact leadership role. As the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, you will spearhead human rights initiatives and strategic operations in a critical geopolitical region.

Missions principales

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for OHCHR operations across the Middle East and North Africa region.
• Oversee the implementation of human rights mandates and regional programs in coordination with the Division Director.
• Represent the OHCHR in high-level diplomatic engagements, regional forums, and with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.
• Manage regional resources, personnel, and operational budgets to ensure effective delivery of human rights protection and promotion.
• Monitor human rights trends and political developments in the MENA region to inform global strategic responses.

Profil recherché

• Extensive professional experience in human rights, international relations, or legal affairs, specifically within the MENA region.
• Proven track record in senior management and leading large-scale, complex international operations.
• Exceptional diplomatic skills and the ability to navigate sensitive political environments.
• Advanced academic degree in International Law, Human Rights, Political Science, or a related field.

• Strategic leadership and organizational management.
• Deep expertise in International Human Rights Law.
• Advanced negotiation and high-level advocacy skills.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic or French is highly desirable.
