Senior Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Senior Procurement Engineer will lead the sourcing strategy for upcoming projects, ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of materials and services. This role works closely with project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain a robust procurement pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Gather project forecasts and define procurement needs, including lists, dates, and budgets.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers through market research and apply selection criteria.
• Request quotes, maintain the supplier database, and negotiate to secure high‑quality supply channels.
• Periodically review vendor pricing to align with market conditions and minimize costs.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and support Level 1 procurement processes.
• Collaborate with internal specialists to define quality specifications and technical evaluations.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to monitor service quality and commodity delivery.
• Investigate internal customer complaints, address minor deviations, and escalate complex issues.
• Manage payment follow‑up, including advances, transfers, and documentary credits.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation using electronic and paper filing systems.
• Assist in department budgeting and support junior colleagues with guidance and knowledge transfer.
• Draft, negotiate, and finalize subcontract terms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of procurement experience, preferably in international construction projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Fluency in English, French and Arabic.
