Senior Logistics Officer

About the role

The Senior Logistics Officer will lead end‑to‑end logistics operations, ensuring shipments are executed cost‑effectively, on time, and in compliance with regulations. This role collaborates closely with internal teams, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to optimise processes and support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse freight quotations, selecting competitive vendors.
• Review and validate freight cost comparisons and drive approval in line with company policies.
• Supervise shipment bookings, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders and clearing agents for smooth execution.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively addressing delays and confirming delivery dates.
• Validate logistics‑related invoices to maintain cost control.
• Maintain and audit shipment records and logistics cost data for accurate reporting.
• Ensure timely submission of documentation for ERP posting.
• Prepare logistics reports, KPIs, and cost analyses for management.
• Identify and implement process improvements and cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Provide guidance to junior logistics staff as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and international logistics.
• 4–6 years of experience in logistics or supply‑chain operations.
• Proven track record managing freight forwarders and clearing agents.
• Advanced analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple shipments and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
