Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Arab Finance House s.a.l., an Islamic bank, is looking for a qualified, detail-oriented and analytical Senior Internal Auditor. The role covers internal audit assignments at bank branches and Head Office departments, following the approved audit plan.

Key responsibilities

• Review the effectiveness of internal controls, operational procedures and compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures.
• Assess compliance with banking regulations, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Examine financial and operational records to identify errors, irregularities, control weaknesses and potential risks.
• Evaluate the adequacy of risk management practices and the effectiveness of internal control systems.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risks and recommendations for corrective action.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and verify the accuracy and completeness of transactions and supporting documentation.
• Maintain audit documentation and working papers, coordinate with departments and branches, and report significant findings to the Head of Internal Audit.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 3 years of internal audit experience within the banking sector only.
• Proven experience auditing both bank branches and Head Office departments.
• Good knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment and audit methodologies.
• Strong analytical, organisational and report-writing skills, with attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality and professional ethics.
