Senior Back End Engineer - Java Spring Boot ($5000+/month)

About the role

We are a remote‑first software agency with teams in Lebanon and the United States, specializing in fintech and e‑commerce solutions. We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to lead the design and development of high‑performance, scalable backend systems for a flagship e‑commerce and fintech platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and design of new features while maintaining scalable, high‑performance backend systems.
• Take ownership of technical solutions, translating business requirements into optimal implementations.
• Perform code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, helping set development goals.
• Explore and introduce new tools and technologies to improve team productivity.
• Participate in regular stand‑ups, architecture discussions, and roadmap definition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years with Laravel backend development.
• Proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience delivering scalable, secure, and performant products.
• Hands‑on experience with OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Expertise in data modeling and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) with complex SQL queries.
• Advanced knowledge of caching and queuing systems such as Redis.
• Proficiency with Git, Bitbucket, and branching strategies.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and designing serverless or containerized architectures.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
• Excellent English communication skills and proven mentoring experience.
