Senior Associate – External Audit

About the role

Grant Thornton Lebanon is seeking a Senior Associate to lead external audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio. You will act as the main point of contact for clients, ensure audit quality, and mentor junior staff while adhering to the firm’s methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day audit activities for various clients.
• Maintain efficient information flow between clients and the audit team.
• Serve as liaison between clients and senior management.
• Apply Grant Thornton’s audit methodology and software.
• Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to managers, partners, and clients.
• Spot performance‑improvement opportunities.
• Lead client communication after the initial kick‑off meeting.
• Provide weekly progress updates to the manager.
• Collaborate on audit strategy during the planning phase.
• Monitor engagement budgets.
• Prepare financial statements for fieldwork.
• Coach and train junior staff.
• Stay updated on emerging issues through regular team meetings.
• Act as a peer advisor for new team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of recent audit experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Economics; Master’s in Audit is a plus.
• CPA, ACCA, LCPA or IFRS certification (or intent to obtain).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and accounting practices.
• Excellent communication, analytical and research abilities.
• Proven team‑management and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Positive attitude under pressure and a drive for continuous learning.
