Senior Accountant

About the role

A Senior Accountant position based in Lebanon, covering accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, financial reporting and support of external audits. The role also involves VAT and tax return work in Lebanon.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process invoices accurately and in line with company policies
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
• Reconcile vendor and customer statements and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and maintain financial reports on accounts payable and receivable, and assist in month-end and year-end closing
• Manage and reconcile bank accounts daily, weekly and monthly, review bank statements, and post journal entries for banking transactions
• Monitor cash flow, forecast and budget, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
• Support external audits with documentation and explanations
• Mentor junior accounting staff and perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting
• Handle VAT and tax returns in Lebanon

Required profile

• 8-10 years of proven experience
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective written and verbal communication, professional demeanor
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently or in a team
