Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for a dynamic organization in Beirut. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with finance, operations and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll‑related entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Ensure compliance with Lebanese accounting standards, tax regulations and donor requirements.
• Monitor cash flow, analyse variances and review journal entries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and improve processes and controls.
• Assist internal and external auditors and provide clear financial insights to management.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in core accounting activities and month‑end closing.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis within a project‑based environment.
• Solid understanding of local accounting standards, taxation and donor‑funded project requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or CMA preferred.
• Previous senior accountant experience, ideally in supply chain, logistics, NGOs or humanitarian organisations.
• High level of integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices.
