Senior Accountant – Baghdad, Iraq

About the role

The Senior Accountant will ensure accurate booking of all transactions, compliance with local laws and international reporting standards, and support the finance team in delivering timely financial information for a manufacturing operation in Baghdad.

Key responsibilities

• Record general accounting transactions, including prepaid items, accruals, and provisions.
• Perform bank reconciliations, manage transfers, checks and cash payments.
• Prepare and submit NSSF and tax declarations.
• Handle expense reports, supplier payments, and purchase order processing.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals and depreciation.
• Reconcile inter‑company accounts and support the sales/invoicing cycle.
• Generate receivable and payable reports and other financial statements.
• Assist the Chief Accountant with month‑end closing activities.
• Create new stock items and ensure proper documentation of purchase orders.

Required profile
