Senior Account Executive

About the role

Steps Real Estate is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Lebanon. The role will serve as the financial bridge between the Lebanon headquarters and the UK branch, overseeing all accounting and reporting activities for the UK entity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle for the UK branch, including bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures and reconcile bank, credit‑card and intercompany balances.
• File UK VAT returns, support statutory filings with Companies House, and ensure corporate tax compliance.
• Handle intercompany transactions, multi‑currency accounting (GBP, USD, LBP) and FX revaluation.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for the UK operations.
• Support property transaction accounting for UK‑held real‑estate assets.
• Liaise with UK auditors, accountants and payroll providers as the primary contact from Lebanon.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent) – ACCA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Prior experience with UK accounting, VAT and corporate tax requirements.
• Experience in the real‑estate sector is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Multi‑currency accounting and foreign‑exchange revaluation.
• VAT filing and corporate tax compliance.
