Quantity Surveyor / Cost Control Engineer

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor / Cost Control Engineer will lead cost management activities across all project phases, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyse Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and cost plans from concept to construction.
• Support the preparation and review of tender and contract documents, project budgets and cost‑control procedures.
• Evaluate contractor and subcontractor tenders for technical, commercial and contractual compliance.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and issue early warnings of potential overruns.
• Produce monthly cost reports, cash‑flow forecasts and financial summaries for internal management and clients.
• Measure, track and certify work progress for interim payment applications in line with contract conditions.
• Assess variations, change orders and contractor claims, maintaining updated registers.
• Assist project teams with value engineering, cost optimisation and contract administration related to payments and valuations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost control or quantity surveying, preferably within a consultancy or PMC environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts such as FIDIC and standard measurement methods like POMI.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with QS or cost‑management software.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contract terms.
• Understanding of POMI measurement methodology.
