Programme Officer – Head of UNODC Office in Lebanon

About the role

The Programme Officer will lead the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Programme Office in Lebanon, overseeing the implementation of UNODC programmes and representing the agency to the Lebanese government and international partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and manage UNODC programmes in Lebanon, ensuring alignment with regional frameworks.
• Represent UNODC to national authorities, UN Country Team, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration on drug control, crime prevention, and related conventions.
• Mobilise resources from governments, international organisations, member states and the private sector to support programme activities.
• Translate regional policy objectives into technical assistance and policy development initiatives for Lebanon.
• Contribute to UN common country planning, monitoring, evaluation and the development of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in programme management within an international or UN context.
• Strong knowledge of UN conventions on drug control, transnational organised crime, corruption and cybercrime.
• Proven ability to engage with government officials, UN agencies and development partners.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of resource mobilisation.
