Power Systems Engineer I

About the role

The Power Systems Engineer I will develop and conduct modeling and analysis for transmission and distribution studies, supporting the integration of renewable generation, load, and energy storage projects. This role involves designing system studies and providing technical support throughout the interconnection process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop collector systems and substation one‑line diagrams, steady‑state, short‑circuit, and dynamic plant models for solar, wind, and battery storage projects.
• Prepare generation interconnection applications and support the interconnection process from filing to commercial operation.
• Conduct electrical system design studies for renewable projects and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (master’s degree is a plus).
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality reports and deliverables.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of programming software (e.g., MATLAB, Python) – a plus.
