Part-Time IT Infrastructure Technician (Beirut/Byblos)

About the role

The Lebanese American University is seeking a part‑time IT Infrastructure Technician to maintain and support the physical voice, data and video networks across its campuses in Beirut and Byblos. The role involves hands‑on installation, troubleshooting and routine maintenance of cabling, telecom equipment and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, terminate and maintain structured cabling (UTP, fiber optics, coaxial) for voice, video and data networks.
• Set up and service telephone sets, faxes, PCs, TVs and video‑conferencing equipment.
• Troubleshoot cable‑plant issues and coordinate repairs with the Operations & Maintenance office and external contractors.
• Mount and maintain equipment in server and telecom cabinets.
• Assist with basic switch troubleshooting, wireless access‑point installation and Cisco Call Manager operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs in telecom rooms and data centres, including UPS monitoring.
• Document cable‑plant changes and maintain inventory of switches and phones.
• Support smart‑classroom equipment and ensure all user incidents are logged and tracked.

Required profile

• Technical Baccalaureate (BT3) in electronics, computers or related field; TS a plus.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in telecommunications or IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of current telecom and network equipment, software and industry cabling standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly in English.
