OSP and Fiber Trainer (Damascus)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) and Fiber Trainer to join our team in Damascus. The role involves delivering bilingual (English/Arabic) classroom and on‑site training to contractors, design engineers, and inspection teams, ensuring best‑practice implementation across all phases of fiber network deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct classroom and field training on excavation, trenching, ducting, backfilling, and reinstatement.
• Teach trenchless methods such as HDD and micro‑trenching, as well as duct/chamber infrastructure installation.
• Demonstrate cable hauling, blowing/jetting, splicing, and jointing techniques on‑site.
• Instruct on optical network testing tools (OTDR, optical power meter, light source) and result interpretation against acceptance criteria.
• Train teams on OSP material specifications, passive component compliance, and quality‑control procedures.
• Develop, update, and maintain training modules, slides, and handouts aligned with current standards.
• Assess trainee competence through tests, feedback, and follow‑up activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Telecommunications.
• 12+ years of industry experience with at least 5 years in training and development within the OSP fiber domain.
• Proven knowledge of OSP standards, regulations, and compliance (ISO/IEC 11801, IEC 60794, ITU‑T G‑series, national operator specs).
• Fluent in spoken English and Arabic.
• Ability to work independently, travel nationwide, and handle confidential information.
