About the role
The Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Saint George University Medical Center seeks a full‑time Musculoskeletal Radiologist at specialist level. The successful candidate will split time between clinical imaging, image‑guided interventions and academic duties within a university‑affiliated teaching hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret a full spectrum of musculoskeletal imaging studies (X‑ray, CT, MRI) for trauma, sports injuries, arthritis, tumors, infections, pre‑ and post‑operative assessments and prosthetic complications.
- Perform independent MSK interventional procedures such as ultrasound/CT/fluoroscopy‑guided joint, bursal, tendon sheath injections, nerve blocks, CT‑guided bone and soft‑tissue biopsies, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, radiofrequency or cryo‑ablation, and drainage of collections.
- Participate in on‑call coverage, ensure compliance with radiation safety, sterile technique and thorough procedural documentation.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, residents and fellows; contribute to curriculum, case‑based teaching and multidisciplinary tumor boards.
- Engage in clinical research, quality‑improvement projects and scholarly activities, presenting findings at national and international meetings.
Required profile
- Medical degree and completion of an accredited radiology residency.
- Fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging (minimum two years post‑fellowship experience preferred).
- Demonstrated competence in MSK interventional procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary academic teams.
Required skills
- X‑ray, CT and MRI interpretation of musculoskeletal anatomy.
- Ultrasound, CT and fluoroscopy‑guided joint, bursal, tendon sheath injections and arthrograms.
- Image‑guided nerve blocks (e.g., suprascapular, sciatic, femoral, obturator).
- CT‑guided bone biopsies and ultrasound/CT‑guided soft‑tissue biopsies.
- Vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, radiofrequency and cryo‑ablation of bone and soft‑tissue lesions.
- Drainage of musculoskeletal collections and pre‑operative localization procedures.
- Adherence to sterile technique, radiation safety standards and comprehensive procedural documentation.
