Mental Health Technical Advisor (Service Agreement)

About the role

The Mental Health Technical Advisor will provide independent, consultative support to Relief International’s mental health team in Beirut. Two sessions per month, up to two hours each, will be delivered online or in person, focusing on complex and high‑risk cases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical consultation on severe mental health conditions, suicide risk, and psychiatric concerns.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary case‑consultation sessions using anonymized case presentations.
• Advise on evidence‑based, ethical, patient‑centered practices, including mhGAP‑informed care and protection‑sensitive referrals.
• Support professional development through case‑based learning, role‑plays, and technical sessions on trauma‑informed care, CBT, NET, and risk assessment.
• Submit a concise monthly advisory note summarising support, technical themes, learning needs, and follow‑up topics.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with safeguarding, informed‑consent, and data‑protection standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in clinical mental health, preferably with high‑risk and complex cases.
• Strong knowledge of mhGAP, trauma‑informed care, CBT, and Narrative Exposure Therapy.
• Ability to conduct remote and onsite advisory sessions and to facilitate multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and safeguarding standards.
