Mechatronics Engineer – Robotics & Mechanical Systems

About the role

Fabscenes LLC is a creative startup that builds wall-mounted diorama art and miniature scenes by combining artistic design, 3D modelling, 3D printing, woodworking and mechanical integration. It is looking for a mechatronics engineer to design and develop the moving mechanisms and control systems of its miniature products.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical assemblies and moving mechanisms, including gears, linkages, motors and actuators
• Prepare 3D mechanical models, technical drawings and assembly specifications, and select materials and components
• Select and integrate motors, servos, sensors, controllers and power supplies; develop basic circuits and wiring diagrams
• Work with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32 or similar, and write control logic and firmware
• Build and test functional prototypes, troubleshoot issues and optimise designs for reliability, safety, noise and power consumption
• Collaborate with the 3D artist and workshop technician so that components can be manufactured, assembled and maintained

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering field
• 2+ years of experience in mechatronics, robotics, automation or product development
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, motors, actuators and mechanisms
• Ability to read and prepare mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and hands-on engineering skills

Required skills

• CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360
• Microcontrollers and basic embedded programming
• Nice to have: Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, C/C++ or Python, servo/stepper/DC motors, sensors and 3D printing
