Inventory Control Officer

About the role

The Inventory Control Officer ensures the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of inventory records across the organization. Working closely with warehouse, production, operations, and finance teams, the officer supports inventory valuation, costing, and master data maintenance within the ERP system.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily inventory transactions such as receipts, transfers, issues, adjustments, and returns.
• Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and spot checks to verify stock accuracy.
• Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical stock and ERP records.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc inventory reports and analyze slow‑moving, obsolete, or excess stock.
• Create and maintain item master data, including descriptions, units of measure, pricing, and product specifications.
• Develop and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure their accuracy across production departments.
• Process production and transfer orders in the ERP system, ensuring timely and accurate recording.
• Support inventory valuation and costing activities, maintaining cost sheets and assisting finance during reviews.
• Ensure compliance with inventory policies, internal controls, and participate in internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Experience in inventory control, stock reconciliation, or related supply‑chain functions is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory and master data management.
• Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM) creation and maintenance.
• Ability to generate and interpret inventory reports and perform variance analysis.
