Interior Design Program Coordinator

About the role

The Department of Architecture & Interior Design at the Lebanese American University seeks an energetic and visionary academic leader to serve as Interior Design Program Coordinator, beginning Fall 2027. The role combines academic oversight, curriculum development, and faculty support across the Beirut and Byblos campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Chair on all matters related to the development and academic direction of the Interior Design program.
• Provide academic and administrative leadership across both Beirut and Byblos campuses.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with NASAD accreditation standards.
• Develop innovative courses and promote experimental design pedagogy.
• Plan and coordinate course offerings in consultation with faculty and stakeholders.
• Assist in faculty recruitment, appointments, and professional development.
• Organize and lead program activities such as student orientations, lecture series, and extracurricular events.
• Prepare and manage the program’s budget, addressing faculty needs, equipment requests, and strategic priorities.
• Represent the program within the School, the University, and external academic and professional communities.
• Teach in the candidate’s area of expertise with a reduced teaching load of 15 credits per year.

Required profile

• A terminal degree (Master’s in Interior Design or related field required; PhD preferred).
• Strong academic record in teaching, research, and/or professional practice.
• Demonstrated administrative experience in higher education.
• Familiarity with accreditation processes (NASAD and/or NAAB).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
