Inequality Intern

About the role

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is seeking a motivated intern to contribute to its flagship “Inequality in the Arab region” project. The internship will support the development of the 2027 Intergenerational Inequality Report, focusing on how future scenarios may shape multidimensional inequalities across the Arab region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the analysis of multidimensional inequality trends projected to 2045 for the Arab region.
• Draft at least one policy brief for the Inequality Solutions Portal.
• Provide support to various components of the inequality portfolio as needed.
• Contribute to preparatory tasks for the annual Arab Forum for Equality, depending on timelines.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme, in the final year of a bachelor’s programme, or a recent university graduate.
• Strong interest in economic, social, gender, spatial or generational inequality research.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
