Group Director of Engineering & Construction (Telecoms & Data Centres)

About the role

We are seeking a Group Director of Engineering & Construction to lead our telecom and data centre portfolio across multiple continents. This executive‑level position reports to senior leadership and operates remotely, with international travel as required.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight to bidding and project delivery teams across all operating companies.
• Drive portfolio performance, including revenue, gross margin, quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate business development, bidding and execution functions to optimise end‑to‑end project lifecycle.
• Review and approve major escalations, strategic bids, programme approaches, change requests and portfolio risks.
• Monitor financial performance, schedule adherence, cost optimisation and risk management for engineering and construction activities.
• Lead expansion of engineering and construction capabilities in fibre‑optic and data‑centre sectors, identifying new market opportunities.
• Act as senior escalation point for critical project, client and operational challenges.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering large‑scale telecom projects, particularly in Africa.
• Proven leadership of engineering and construction portfolios covering fibre‑optic and data‑centre projects.
• Fluent Arabic language skills.
• Ability to manage delivery across multiple continents and travel internationally.
• Executive‑level leadership and strong client engagement capabilities.
