Graphic Design Intern

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join its Conference Management Services team in Beirut. Working under the Senior Designer, the intern will support the creation of visual materials that communicate ESCWA’s policy work and initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and laying out information materials such as policy briefs, booklets, flyers, roll‑up banners, social media posts, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Create logos, infographics, illustrations and drawings to enhance publications.
• Support the development of scripts, moodboards, storyboards and produce short animated videos.
• Liaise with authors and language colleagues to ensure project specifications are met.
• Perform other related design tasks as required.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate programme, in the final year of a bachelor programme, or already graduated.
• Computer literate with a strong interest in United Nations work and a commitment to UN values.
• Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• No prior professional experience is required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Xpress.
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere (desirable).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel (desirable).
• Fluency in English and Arabic; French knowledge is a plus.
