Global Vice President of Engineering & Construction (Telecom)

About the role

This executive position leads the engineering and construction portfolio for a global infrastructure engineering firm, focusing on telecom civil works, fibre networks and data‑centre projects across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The role is remote with flexibility to work from the candidate’s home base and requires extensive travel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight to bidding and project delivery teams across multiple operating companies.
• Drive portfolio performance against revenue, margin, quality and client‑satisfaction targets.
• Ensure seamless handover from bid to execution, reviewing major bids, change requests and risk mitigation plans.
• Lead expansion of engineering and construction capabilities into fibre‑optic and data‑centre sectors.
• Standardise governance processes, monitor financial and schedule performance, and implement corrective actions with regional leaders.
• Act as senior escalation point for strategic project, operational and client issues.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in telecom civil works, fibre or data‑centre construction projects across Africa.
• Established network of EPC suppliers and strong relationships with regional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex portfolios with international travel requirements.
• Excellent strategic thinking, governance and risk‑management capabilities.
