Finance Officer – Disaster Management

About the role

The Red Cross in Lebanon is looking for a Finance Officer to support disaster management (DMS) follow-up. The role covers budget monitoring, validation of project invoices and financial reporting, and requires a cover letter.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage budgets related to DMS follow-up, validate all DMS project invoices and update budgets while tracking expenditures.
• Prepare financial reports for review and validation by the Finance Department, and plan and forecast budget needs, identifying funding gaps.
• Coordinate smoothly between the DMS and the Finance Section, and communicate budget information clearly to the DMS and project managers.
• Review and validate financial documents such as budgets, reports and cash flow forecasts, and cross-check accounting documents between the Finance Section and the DM Unit's administration.
• Analyze variances between budget forecasts and actual spending, and conduct periodic financial analyses to find and resolve discrepancies.
• Help prepare budgets, keep support coordinators informed of project changes, and follow up on meetings with partners about budget monitoring.

Required profile

• Experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in similar volunteer-based or humanitarian organizations.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of Excel.
