Finance Officer – Beirut

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Finance Officer to join its Beirut office. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will handle day‑to‑day financial data processing, month‑end closing, and ensure compliance with IRC policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review payments, clearances and record related entries in the Integra system.
• Process petty‑cash expenses and ensure payments follow IRC procedures.
• Prepare, monitor and upload monthly data source entries.
• Finalize monthly transactions, verify accuracy in Integra and post to the accounting system.
• Implement internal controls in line with IRC policies and donor mandates.
• Prepare cash and bank reconciliations and necessary adjusting entries.
• Review bank letters, transfers and related system entries.
• Maintain an organized filing system within the finance department.
• Support supplier reconciliations and verify local purchase requests for budget availability.
• Coordinate finance activities to meet headquarters‑defined closing timelines.
• Provide documentation for audits and donor visits.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within an NGO.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a recognized institution.
• Strong computer literacy with extensive Excel use.
• Experience with accounting packages, preferably Sun Accounting System.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
