Economic Recovery Coordinator

About the role

The Economic Recovery Coordinator will lead DRC’s Economic Recovery (EcRec) sector in Lebanon, shaping strategy, proposals and technical tools to support food security, financial inclusion and decent livelihoods programmes. Reporting to senior management, the coordinator ensures that interventions are designed, implemented and monitored to promote self‑reliance and resilience among refugee and host‑community populations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, supervise and provide technical guidance for all Economic Recovery activities across Lebanon.
• Lead the development of sector strategies, proposals, tools and standard operating procedures, ensuring alignment with humanitarian and recovery objectives.
• Facilitate coordination with national and international actors, proposing joint initiatives and harmonising market‑based modalities.
• Support programme teams to deliver high‑quality, timely outputs and contribute to evidence generation and referral information management.
• Represent DRC in national coordination forums and assist fundraising efforts by articulating the sector’s value proposition.
• Guide the transition of programmes from emergency response to sustainable recovery when conditions allow.

Required profile

• Proven experience in economic recovery, livelihoods, food security or financial inclusion programmes, preferably in humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of market‑based interventions, cash‑based modalities and resilience concepts.
• Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills, with ability to influence stakeholders at national level.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Technical expertise in designing and monitoring livelihood, food security or financial inclusion projects.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures, tools and guidelines for market‑based humanitarian interventions.
