About the role
The Deputy Food Security & Livelihoods Coordinator will support the FSL Coordinator in delivering food security and livelihoods programmes across Lebanon. This position plays a key role in sector coordination, strategic representation and the technical implementation of cash‑based and in‑kind assistance.
Key responsibilities
- Support sector coordination and develop cash guidance in line with sector priorities, working closely with UN sector leads.
- Represent Action Against Hunger in key external meetings, including the Cash Working Group and engagements with the Ministry of Social Affairs.
- Co‑convene and facilitate sector working groups, ensuring meetings are action‑oriented and decisions are communicated to partners.
- Maintain links with national and international NGOs, donor agencies and affected communities, contributing to the sector’s annual work plan and monitoring framework.
- Promote the use of common standards, tools and policy guidelines among sector partners.
- Collect and analyse data on food security and livelihoods of target populations, identifying needs and proposing interventions aligned with the country strategy.
- Coordinate with agencies delivering fresh food vouchers, cash for food, and in‑kind food parcels to ensure complementarity and effectiveness.
- Assist in drafting sector analysis sections for assessments and surveys under the guidance of the Programme Manager and MEAL Manager.
Required profile
- Proven experience in food security, basic assistance or livelihoods coordination within humanitarian contexts.
- Strong understanding of cash‑based assistance mechanisms and sector coordination processes.
- Ability to represent the organisation in high‑level meetings and build strategic partnerships.
- Excellent analytical skills for data collection, evaluation and reporting.
- Familiarity with Lebanese humanitarian landscape and relevant donor regulations.
