Data Engineering Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Team Lead to drive the design, delivery, and ongoing support of modern data platforms for our customers. The role blends hands‑on engineering with team leadership, customer engagement, and technical ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of Data Engineers.
• Manage priorities, workload, and delivery across multiple customer projects.
• Engage with customers to gather data requirements, source systems, and business objectives.
• Design and implement data warehouses, lakehouses, and medallion architectures using Microsoft Fabric.
• Oversee data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, transformation processes, and integration.
• Establish coding, testing, and documentation standards and conduct solution reviews.
• Collaborate with Data Architects and BI teams to define data models and analytical datasets.
• Ensure security, governance, monitoring, and data‑quality standards are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and data warehousing.
• Previous experience as a Data Engineering Lead, Technical Lead or similar role.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead technical delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Pipelines, OneLake).
• Proficiency in SQL and PySpark.
• Expertise in ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, medallion architecture, Delta Lake.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services, APIs, databases, ERP/CRM systems (advantage).
