About the role
The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia seeks a consultant to produce a technical paper analysing exchange‑rate pass‑through and monetary‑policy reforms in two Arab economies using a Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) framework. The assignment is remote and will last approximately four months.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare a detailed outline for the technical paper, covering methodology and country selection.
- Develop the first draft employing a multi‑layered empirical and structural approach, incorporating short‑run dynamics and medium‑term policy mechanisms.
- Conduct DSGE modelling for a dollarised oil‑exporting economy and a non‑oil, flexible‑rate economy, integrating imperfect credibility, fiscal dominance and exchange‑rate pass‑through.
- Incorporate reviewer comments and deliver a final 8,000‑word draft.
- Provide the complete DSGE code, database and Excel results.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in economics, finance or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in macro‑economic modelling, preferably DSGE.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation.
