Construction Manager - Solar PV Projects (Lebanon & Africa)

About the role

This on-site Construction Manager manages projects across the organization in Lebanon and mainly Africa, overseeing project development from initiation to closure. The role covers civil, electrical and mechanical scopes of a solar PV project, supervising daily site operations and ensuring timely, high-quality and safe delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily site operations and construction activities, and lead on-site activities to ensure safe, timely and high-quality delivery.
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians and subcontractors, and ensure full understanding of civil, electrical and mechanical designs.
• Manage project schedules, milestones and deadlines, track progress and resolve on-site challenges.
• Manage project cash flow, including local expenses, subcontractor payments and per diems, and collaborate with the finance team on invoicing, payment tracking and reporting.
• Lead subcontractor negotiation, performance management and scope, pricing and execution clarity; review and certify subcontractor invoices, variations and claims.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements and RFIs, and ensure work follows approved plans, drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure compliance with local permits, grid requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee site logistics, deliveries and material movement, and implement QA/QC processes.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure strict adherence to HSE regulations.
• Coordinate commissioning, testing, energization and handover documentation, and prepare meeting minutes with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Prepare and manage change requests, variation orders and risk mitigation plans, and archive project documents after completion.
• Manage and guide local site teams, supervisors and workforce.
