Computational Designer

About the role

Dar, part of the Sidara group, is an international multidisciplinary consulting organization covering engineering, architecture, planning, environment, project management, facilities management and economics. It is looking for a Computational Designer who will develop tools and automation to optimize design workflows and integrate computational methods into the design process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop tools to optimize design workflows, automate repetitive tasks and explore generative design possibilities.
• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, engineers and other stakeholders to integrate computational methodologies into the design process.
• Use parametric modelling tools such as Rhino + Grasshopper and Dynamo.
• Create automation solutions using C# and Python.
• Conduct performance analysis to support data-driven design decisions.
• Develop and maintain team standards, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies in computational design, automation, AI-driven tools and digital fabrication.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Computational Design or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in computational design, architecture, interior design or a related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while keeping quality high.
• A portfolio showing computational/parametric design projects is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Rhino + Grasshopper, Dynamo or similar platforms.
• Experience with C#, Python or visual scripting for automation and workflow development.
• Working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows, including interoperability between computational tools and Revit.
• Strong understanding of architectural and interior design principles, building systems, materials and construction techniques.
• Preferred: automation and AI-driven design tools, digital fabrication, material research, computational geometry, data visualization, cloud computing or scripting for large data processing.
