Communications Assistant – Videographer/Photographer

About the role

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is looking for a Communications Assistant specialized in videography and photography. The role focuses on creating high‑quality visual and multimedia content that highlights ESCWA’s programmes, events and impact, thereby strengthening the organization’s visibility and outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Capture professional video footage and photographs at conferences, meetings, workshops, official visits and other ESCWA events.
• Record high‑quality audio, including interviews, speeches and ambient sound.
• Set up, operate and maintain lighting, audio, camera and related production equipment in diverse environments.
• Plan and execute multi‑camera productions and livestreaming coverage when required.
• Perform video editing and post‑production tasks such as colour correction, sound mixing, subtitling, captioning, motion graphics, animations and visual effects.
• Produce event highlight reels, promotional videos, testimonials, documentaries, social‑media clips and other multimedia products aligned with ESCWA communication objectives.
• Develop storyboards, shot lists, production plans and visual narratives for multimedia projects.
• Support communication and outreach campaigns by delivering engaging visual content.

Required profile

• Professional experience in videography, photography and multimedia production.
• Ability to work under the direct supervision of the Secretary of the Commission and the Chief of External Relations and Outreach.
• Strong organisational skills to manage equipment, schedules and production workflows.
• Familiarity with United Nations standards and branding guidelines.
