Clinical Psychologist – National Post

About the role

The Clinical Psychologist will deliver specialized mental health services within Relief International‑supported primary health care centres (PHCCs) and satellite units in Beirut. The role focuses on assessment, treatment planning, psycho‑education, group interventions and safe referrals for host community members, refugees, IDPs, children, adolescents and other vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and family mental health consultations, including clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress monitoring and risk follow‑up.
• Deliver psychological first aid, crisis intervention and group support sessions using RI‑approved curricula or WHO PM+ / SH+ frameworks.
• Coordinate with the Mental Health Supervisor, case managers, CHVs, psychologists and psychiatrists to ensure confidential, quality care aligned with mhGAP and national guidelines.
• Conduct home visits, PSU‑based support or remote follow‑up for beneficiaries unable to access PHCCs.
• Mentor PHCC staff on case identification, safe referral, active listening and documentation; support outreach and field visits to shelters and community locations.
• Maintain accurate records, informed consent and safeguarding procedures; follow up internal and external referrals securely.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering mental health services to crisis‑affected populations such as refugees, IDPs and other vulnerable groups.
• Familiarity with mhGAP guidelines and WHO mental health frameworks (PM+, SH+).
• Ability to conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans and perform risk follow‑up, including suicide risk.
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice and safeguarding standards.
