Chief Steward

About the role

The Chief Steward leads the stewarding department in a hospitality environment, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene and organization across all kitchen and food‑service areas. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Beirut Governorate, Lebanon.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the stewarding department, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Manage and schedule stewarding staff, providing training and motivation.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning materials, chemicals and kitchen equipment.
• Enforce safety and health regulations, ensuring compliance with HACCP and local health standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage team to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Chief Steward or in a similar supervisory role within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of stewarding operations, kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Good understanding of HACCP standards (certification is an advantage).
• Experience in inventory control of cleaning supplies, chemicals and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to supervise, train and motivate staff effectively.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
