About the role
The European Union Delegation to Lebanon is seeking a Budget/Accounting Assistant to support the Finance, Contracts & Audit Section. Working under the Head of Section, you will ensure the smooth financial and legal management of EU cooperation programmes in Lebanon.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse, verify and process payment requests and financial guarantees.
- Prepare and establish documents related to commitments, de‑commitments, payments and recoveries.
- Follow up on contracts, payments, execution deadlines and bank/legal entity files.
- Ensure data quality in the relevant IT applications and contribute to financial reports and statistics.
- Support procurement processes: prepare and verify tender and proposal documents, organise evaluation committees, and verify contract awards.
- Prepare contracts for signature, encode data accurately, and identify requests for deviations or exceptions.
- Assist in the resolution of disputes arising from calls for tenders or proposals.
Required profile
- Experience or academic background in finance, accounting, or public‑sector budgeting.
- Familiarity with EU financial regulations and procurement procedures.
- Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
