Backend Developer Engineer (Laravel)

About the role

OLX Lebanon is seeking a Backend Laravel Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑quality internal and customer‑facing products. The role focuses on backend development using Laravel, with occasional work on internal tools such as admin panels and dashboards. You will join an agile team that values clean code, thoughtful architecture, and long‑term product stability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise Laravel‑based backend systems for both internal and external products.
• Implement and manage queues, caching, Redis and Amazon S3 storage to ensure scalability and performance.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and core business logic.
• Develop or enhance internal tools (admin panels, dashboards) using Laravel Blade or lightweight frontend frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high‑quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with team members using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira for sprint planning and issue tracking.
• Contribute to discussions on architecture, performance and best practices.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in backend development with Laravel.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
• Experience using Jira for task and sprint management.
