AI Product Engineer

About the role

Mathspace is looking for an AI Product Engineer to lead the creation of intelligent, AI‑driven learning experiences. You will work from concept to production, building features that give students real‑time hints, conversational feedback, and math support at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI‑powered features that integrate large language models into student and teacher‑facing applications.
• Prototype, test, and deploy LLM‑based functionalities such as adaptive hints, automated question generation, and teacher co‑pilot tools.
• Develop across the full stack using React, TypeScript, Python and GraphQL.
• Experiment with prompting, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), vector search and fine‑tuning to improve learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with curriculum and pedagogy teams to ensure educational soundness.
• Contribute to AI infrastructure and LLMOps processes, including evaluation pipelines, prompt versioning and observability.
• Define safeguards and ethical guidelines for LLM use in education.

Required profile

• 5+ years of industry experience in product‑focused full‑stack or backend engineering.
• Strong product intuition and user empathy, especially for educational contexts.
• Excellent communication skills.
