AI Integration Engineer & Backend Developer

About the role

Endspace is seeking an intermediate Backend Developer with a strong focus on NestJS to lead the integration of autonomous AI agents into its data and application layers. You will design and maintain the backend infrastructure that enables large language models to securely interact with multi‑tenant systems, supporting both internal products and client platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain secure integrations with production‑grade LLM APIs.
• Design, build, and optimise Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, handling text chunking, token tracking, and context windows.
• Manage semantic search infrastructure using vector databases for high‑dimensional embeddings.
• Implement autonomous agent workflows with function calling, background workers, and tool utilisation.
• Set up Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and clients for secure data sharing between databases and LLMs.
• Enforce strict data perimeter, isolation, and sanitisation across multi‑tenant architectures.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in NestJS for building modular, scalable server‑side applications.
• Deep understanding of relational data modelling and optimisation with PostgreSQL.
• Hands‑on experience with vector databases, embeddings, and RAG workflows.
• Proven ability to design secure RESTful APIs and data‑centric AI integrations.
