Accounting Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our day‑to‑day accounting operations in Baghdad. This full‑time, on‑site position will ensure accurate financial reporting, support cash‑flow management and maintain compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, journal entries and month‑end / year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements.
• Monitor and reconcile fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation and disposals.
• Support cash‑flow and working‑capital management.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to aid business decisions.
• Collaborate with operations and senior management to improve financial processes, controls and reporting quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CMA is an advantage.
• Strong foundation in financial statements, journal entries and fixed‑asset management.
• Experience in trading, distribution or FMCG environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
