Accounting & Auditing Consultant – Africa

About the role

SD Group is seeking an experienced Accounting & Auditing Consultant to lead financial reporting and audit engagements for clients across Africa, based in Abidjan with travel to Lebanon and other African countries. You will act as the chief accountant/auditor, ensuring compliance, delivering strategic insights, and supporting the implementation of best‑practice financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting functions for client entities and internal operations.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Plan, execute, and supervise internal audit and financial review engagements across multiple projects and locations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory regulations, tax requirements, and SD Group policies.
• Evaluate financial processes and systems, recommending improvements to strengthen governance and efficiency.
• Provide financial, accounting, and audit advisory services, supporting setup and optimization of client finance structures.
• Deliver clear financial insights, performance analysis, and executive summaries for management decision‑making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow monitoring, and financial planning activities.
• Mentor and develop accounting and audit team members, and train client finance teams as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification preferred (CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and auditing, with proven leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, financial regulations and compliance.
• Demonstrated experience managing audit engagements and delivering financial advisory services.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA) – preferred.
