Accounting and Auditing Consultant – Abidjan

About the role

The Accounting and Auditing Consultant will lead the accounting and financial reporting functions for client entities, based in Abidjan with travel across Lebanon and other African countries. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures compliance with best practices, SD Group policies, and local regulations while delivering strategic financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities for client entities and internal operations.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.
• Plan, execute and supervise internal audit and financial review engagements across multiple projects and locations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory regulations, tax requirements and organizational policies.
• Evaluate financial processes and control environments, recommending improvements to strengthen governance.
• Provide financial, accounting and audit advisory services, supporting setup and optimisation of client finance functions.
• Deliver clear financial insights, performance analysis and executive summaries for management decision‑making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow monitoring and financial planning activities.
• Supervise, mentor and develop accounting and audit team members and deliver training to client finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and auditing, including leadership and team‑management responsibilities.
• Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, financial regulations and compliance requirements.
