Trainer on Disability-Inclusive Youth Centers in Qatar

About the role

ESCWA is recruiting a trainer on disability inclusion in the workplace to deliver a 2-day online training on mainstreaming disability inclusion in youth centers in Qatar. Youth centers foster civic participation, skill development, social integration and community engagement, but youth with disabilities face attitudinal, physical, informational and digital barriers. The training aims to build internal capacity so that programs, physical spaces and digital services are universally accessible and inclusive, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a needs-assessment meeting with Qatari counterparts to identify their needs and tailor the training accordingly.
• Prepare a comprehensive training package on mainstreaming disability inclusion in youth centers in Qatar.
• Deliver an interactive 2-day online training on disability-inclusive youth centers to staff of youth centers.
• Follow up with trainees after the workshop to assess learning outcomes and provide technical support where needed.
• Provide copies of training materials to ESCWA that are not proprietary.
• Perform other relevant duties as requested.

Required profile

• A Master's degree in social science, public policy, disability studies or a related field; a copy of the degree must be submitted.
• At least seven years of experience delivering capacity-building trainings on disability inclusion or facilitating policy dialogues with stakeholders.
• Experience working with public and private sector stakeholders in the Arab region.
• Fluency in Arabic and English; the UN working languages are English and French, and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.
• Legal right to live and work in Beirut, as recruitment is on a local basis.
