Tenure‑track Assistant/Associate Professor in Petroleum Engineering

About the role

The School of Engineering at the Lebanese American University in Byblos, Lebanon seeks a full‑time tenure‑track faculty member in Petroleum Engineering to begin in January or September 2027. The appointment is intended to strengthen both teaching and research activities in the department, and visiting faculty appointments may also be considered for one‑ to two‑year terms.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Petroleum Engineering.
• Develop and sustain a robust research program, securing external funding.
• Supervise and advise undergraduate and graduate students on academic and research projects.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the program.
• Engage in scholarly publications and present research at conferences.
• Collaborate with industry partners and participate in departmental, school, and university service activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering (or a closely related field) and an undergraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Preference for candidates with U.S. teaching or industry experience.
• Demonstrated potential for research excellence and ability to attract external funding.
