Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Tax Accountant to join our growing CPA and tax advisory team. The role involves preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, conducting tax research, and supporting tax planning engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Review prior‑year returns to identify carryforwards, elections, and potential issues.
• Analyze client financial statements and perform book‑to‑tax adjustments.
• Prepare depreciation schedules and reconcile taxable income to accounting records.
• Assist with quarterly and year‑end tax projections and estimate tax calculations.
• Research federal and state tax issues and support multi‑state filing.
• Prepare amended returns and respond to IRS or state notices.
• Coordinate with accounting and tax planning teams to resolve bookkeeping issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field.
• 2+ years of tax preparation experience, preferably with individual and business returns.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income taxation.
• Understanding of S Corporations, C Corporations, partnerships and individual taxation.
• Ability to read and analyze financial statements and general ledgers.
