Supply Chain Officer

About the role

The Supply Chain Officer ensures the timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, updates of purchase prices and shipment costs, and coordination of inbound shipments and deliveries. The role works closely with the Supply Chain Department, clearance agents, suppliers, transporters, the warehouse and Finance to ensure smooth customs clearance, accurate shipment costing, timely product availability and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Create and release purchase orders in the ERP system based on approved supply requirements, and monitor outstanding orders and amendments.
• Maintain accurate purchase prices and CIF values in the system, in coordination with Finance.
• Coordinate with customs clearance agents, suppliers and dairies to prepare shipping documents, clear goods and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor inbound shipments and delivery schedules with clearance agents, transporters and the warehouse.
• Prepare float requests for customs, transport and other shipment expenses, obtain approvals and reconcile actual expenses against advances.
• Verify logistics invoices against agreed rates and minimize avoidable costs such as demurrage and detention charges.
• Maintain shipment records and trackers, file documentation properly and provide shipment cost information to Accounting for expense recording, costing and month-end accruals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics or a related field.
• Previous experience in the FMCG industry is mandatory.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office applications.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and data handling skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
