Software Engineering Manager

About the role

Toters is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead a high‑performing team of software engineers building its Super App. You will drive technical execution, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable web solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Recruit and grow world‑class engineering talent to meet product goals.
• Own the engineering roadmap in partnership with Product Managers and Designers, translating priorities into clear technical plans.
• Oversee development of new features and improvements across the Super App, contributing hands‑on when needed.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure high standards of code quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Drive technical design and architecture discussions, facilitating whiteboard sessions and ensuring scalability and integration.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in web development or related fields.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of web developers.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic startup environment.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Server‑side languages such as Java, Python, Ruby.
• Web frameworks like Express.js, Django, Laravel.
• Database technologies (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Version control with Git.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
