Senior Technical Officer - Aluminum & Glazing

About the role

Cube Metal Industries is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Officer to oversee and coordinate technical and engineering activities for aluminum, glazing and facade projects. The role suits someone with strong facade engineering expertise who can review engineering designs, supervise technical deliverables and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications, contract requirements, IFC drawings and BOQs, and supervise shop drawings, fabrication drawings, material submittals and other engineering deliverables.
• Review engineering designs and technical proposals, identify technical risks and design discrepancies, and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors and suppliers; monitor engineering schedules, approvals and milestones, and follow up on RFIs and technical clarifications.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet project specifications and approved standards, and coordinate with production and quality control teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support procurement teams in evaluating materials and suppliers, and prepare engineering progress reports for the Technical Manager.
• Maintain documentation and revision control of engineering drawings and technical approvals, and suggest improvements to engineering processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in aluminum, glazing and facade engineering.
• Experience in engineering design, planning and technical coordination, and in reviewing shop drawings, fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
• Fluent English, written and spoken; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of aluminum, glazing, curtain wall and facade systems, and good understanding of structural engineering principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Technical coordination and supervisory skills, with strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities.
