Senior SSC AP Accountant

About the role

The Senior SSC AP Accountant is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end accounts‑payable process within a shared services centre. You will ensure timely processing of purchase invoices, vendor payments, and accurate reconciliation of bank and balance‑sheet accounts while supporting audit activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Record purchase invoices promptly in line with accounting guidelines.
• Execute weekly vendor payments according to group policy and resolve any charge discrepancies.
• Perform bank postings, reconciliations and maintain up‑to‑date supplier bank details.
• Conduct periodic vendor and customer balance reconciliations, including GRNI items.
• Review and post intercompany transactions and monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor KPI performance and drive process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, segregation of duties and delegation of authority.
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to ad‑hoc project requests.
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy and policy adherence.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounts payable, vendor management and invoice processing.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, balance‑sheet accounts and intercompany transactions.
• Ability to monitor and improve KPI metrics.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to resolve payment‑related enquiries promptly.
• Capability to train and mentor junior staff.
