As a Senior Protection Legal Officer, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the legal protection frameworks and ensuring the rights of refugees are upheld within our operations.

Missions principales

• Strengthen the legal protection mechanisms for Palestinian refugees within the agency's operational framework.
• Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the Protection Team and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyze legal trends and protection issues affecting the refugee population.
• Support the implementation of protection strategies and ensure compliance with international legal standards.
• Collaborate with the Protection Team Leader to enhance the agency's overall protection response.

Profil recherché

• Advanced university degree (Master's) in Law or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience in legal protection, international law, or human rights.
• Proven ability to work in complex, high-pressure humanitarian environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal frameworks.
• Commitment to the humanitarian principles and the mandate of UNRWA.

Competences requises

• Expertise in International Human Rights Law and Refugee Law.
• Advanced legal research and drafting capabilities.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving in legal contexts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English (additional languages relevant to the region are a plus).
